Words of Wisdom to Impart?
Stay positive regardless of the situation.

General Unloading Done Here.
Unfortunately, my wife and I will be unable to attend the reunion due to a car accident in which our second youngest daughter, Dana, who was a passenger in the car received a traumatic brain injury.  She was not expected to live but has made steady progress since the accident, which occurred in October 2002.  She was in a coma for 5 months, before waking up and able to say some words.  She is not able to walk yet, and is totally dependant on our family for her needs.  She eats and drinks well and uses her right arm very well, but is more recently starting to have some movement in her legs and left arm.  She also does not have vision due to the accident.  She is on seizure medicine, but still has partial seizures and has diabetes insipidus, which has to do with fluid retention.  She continues to work hard and has therapies almost daily to help her to improve her talking and to walk.  She has recently started horse therapy which helps with her posture, the feeling of walking as the gait of the horse gives the sensation of movement as though walking and it forces her to use all her muscles, which will help develop her strength and reduce her contracting.

She is quite remarkable with the progress she has made and all she has gone through and continues to work hard.  Please keep in touch for future events.  By the way, there was a front page article in the Las Vegas Review Journal, the local newspaper, about Dana, as a newspaper reporter has followed her for the past year.  The story appeared in two installments, Sunday April 25 and Monday April 26, should you wish to look it up on the internet.
