Class of 1964

Grace Mathews

What are you doing these days?
For the last 5 ½ years we’ve lived in a small town in the Mother Lode.  We escaped the rat race of the Bay Area, & we love it up here.  I garden, read, & work on projects.  I still do some acting & voice-over work.  Russ has a studio here, which makes it very convenient to record radio dramas, commercials, etc.  And, of course, I try to see my granddaughter as often as possible!  I talk to my kids often.

Tell us about your children.
Heidi (born in 1974) is a dietician & has 1 child.  Heather (born in 1977) is at Sacramento State & is majoring in molecular biology.  Wendy (born in 1977) is a working artist & blacksmith.

Highlights of the past 40 years.
I left P.S. in ’67 & received my B.A. in ’69.  Married in ’71.  M.A. in ’75 at San Jose State.  Was assistant manager for a retail store.  When the kids were small I did volunteer work (taught art appreciation in school, became a docent in our area, had campfire groups, taught Sunday school, for example).  We would load up the motor home with kids & pets and head for anywhere as often as possible.  I later worked for a video production company (after the kids were older), acted in theater productions, studied film acting in S.F., and took care of my mother until her death at 93 in 1999.

Your funniest memory(s) while at PSHS.
Too many to mention!
