What are you doing these days? I just retired from Verizon (November) after 28 years. I was an operations partner in the Operator Services Department. It is really strange not to work after all these years. Mark and I have been together for seven years. We are planning on getting married next year. We enjoy doing a little traveling, but Mark still works, so it’s mostly short trips. I also get to spend more time with my parents, children and grandkids now that I’m off work. Tell us about your children. I have three children: Ben is an artist and lives in Palm Springs; Dione is a respiratory therapist in San Diego. She is married and has four children from 9 months to 18 years. Lisha has just gone back to school and is living with us for a short time (she just lost her fiancée in Dec. to a sudden illness). Mark also has a daughter that is 12 and lives in Alaska and spends the summer with us. Highlights of the past 40 years. As I said, I worked for Verizon for 28 years and really enjoyed my job. I was an operator for many years, but spent the last 5 years in management. I have lived in Cathedral City for the last 34 years. I was born in the valley and have enjoyed staying here. Actually, I’m kind of boring, but I like it that way. Words of Wisdom to Impart? Enjoy everyday of your life and find a great person to love; you never know what tomorrow will bring. |
